Klinsmann
Rottweilers founded in 1988 are a small kennel situated near the ancient
market town of Ledbury, in Herefordshire England our kennels are in
the beautiful contry side close to the Malvern Hills breeding is on
long established and proven blood lines. It is our aim to ensure Klinsmann
Rottweilers are as strong in the future as they are today. All our dogs
are bred for correct size and temperaments, we have a lifetime commitment
to our puppies, and are always available with help and advice.
Rottweilers are powerful dogs with compact muscular bodies that can
move with amazing speed and agility. They are typically black in color
with mahogany to tan markings on their cheeks, paws, muzzle and legs.
The Rottweiler dogs ancestors were Mastiff type dogs, brought through
the Alps by the invading Romans into what is now southern Germany. They
were used as cattle drovers by day, and guarding this food supply for
the legions by night. Remaining dogs continued this work long after
the Romans were driven out, the butchers of Rottweil in Germany for
centuries after, used the German Rottweilers to drive cattle to market,
then protect their money bags going home, they tied the bags around
the necks of their fearless, loyal dogs. The breed originally came to
be known as the butcher's dog, the Rottweiler dog is basically a calm,
confident, courageous breed, having a fearless expression a self-assured
aloofness, that does not lend itself to immediate, and aimless friendships.
Males normally are larger, heavier boned and more masculine looking.
Most of these dogs have their tails docked at the first joint at an
early age. The average size of male Rottweilers is 24-27 inches (61-69
cm) tall with a weight of 95-130 pounds (43-59 kg). Female Rottweilers
are typically 22-25 inches (56-63 cm) tall with a weight of 85-115 pounds
(38-52 kg). Females also produce unusually large litters of around 10-12
puppies.
